thinking of buying the above title was just wanting to get you thoughts ,never owned a mini before i have at present a 2018 vw golf gti but £50 a week in petrol is getting beyond a joke,thoughts please.

The 1.5 engine is good but a lot less power than a GTi. You won't save that much petrol either, it isn't worth changing it if petrol bills are your only reason. Changing costs money unless you are a brilliant wheeler dealer. If you are changing for other reasons as well then fair enough. Expect about 40-45mpg in mixed moderately spirited driving.
