Hello all.

I need to change my two front tyres, i have the 18" JCW alloys. Currently running 205/40r/18's, can i change these with 215/40/18's? will i get any rubbing etc?

Need to order then asap so please reply someone in the know!!!

Thanks in advance

Having changed from 205/40/18 to 215/35/18 I can tell you the following

Car drops by 6.6mm as the overall diameter of the 215/35 is less than stock

Speedo reads circa 6% high at 160 KPH (100MPH)

I would go 215/40/18 and the speedo will read correctly - my next tyres will be 215/40/18

I have 215/40 fitted on my R56 Cooper, although the wheel arch is slightly bigger in the R56 there is no rubbing at all. Having had 215/35 in the past I would now never go back to that combo, the 215/40 provides so much more comfort :)
