225/35/18 combined with an OZ Superleggera, 18x7 et37... Will they fit?

R they not 5 stud fittings?? MINI only has 4. I might be wrong.
You can get the Supperleggs in 4 studs. Not sure if you can get the 18 version in 4 stud but I know you can get the smaller sizes:D
I am certain that Superleggeras are made in 18x7 ET 37 4x100 fitment

anyone have any insight to the tire fitment??
Rich W 225/35/ZR18's will fit fine, ive got 215/35/ZR18's on mine and there's still room left, i could of had 225's but im having mine lowered -50mm soon and 225's may of rubbed.

heres mine on 7x18's (on the left)

Thanks for the info... I also plan on lowering mine with threaded coilovers over lowering springs... In case the setup needs fine tuning.

I really like the Pirelli Pzero Rosso tire (tyre :b). Plus I have an opportunity to get a set in sponsorship. Its only available in a 225/35/18, not the 215. Not many choices in the 215.

I have a bunch more Q's for you if you don't mind.

Got any closeup pics of your setup?
Especially inside the fender Clearance?
What suspension setup are you considering for a 50mm drop?

Thanks in advance,

glad i can help...

also the other problem with a 225 section tyre is that even though i have a 35 profile, the 35 profile will be larger on a 225 rather than a 215 (as the (35) profile is the % of the section of the tyre, so the wider the tyre the larger the profile. (i hope that makes sence ;) )

At the moment if i have 2 adults in the back the rear tyres sometimes rub, if i go over a largish bump! which i can imagine would happen more often with 225's.

If you want to lower it then play safe and go with 215's ( also the handling will blow you away!!!! :D :D :D )

as for your questions, at the moment i dont have any close up pics of my wheels, but i'll take some either tonight or tomorrow for you.

and as for the suspension, im getting the same setup on mine as is used on the JC challenge cars, a full Spax kit, although its not cheap at £964.00. but this is the only suspension upgrade i'd look at because: 1, the setup is fully adjustable, 2, the work is carried out by JC and 3, any work that JC do is aproved by BMW and therefore will not effect your warrenty....

Hope this helps

Lee.

I think you are correct...

Thanks Lee... I'll take your advice...

Stay with the 215's... and slam the car with coilovers. I think I can get the p7000 summers in sponsorship... even though they have a reputation for mega road noise.

More Qs... what tires are you running? What do you do in case of a flat?

My Audi A4 has H&R's with minimal fender gap and 235/35/19's... and it drives like its on rails!

So my expectations are high. When I test drove a Cooper S last night... I easily made the stock 17's squeel on the first curve.

I can't seem to locate the Spax in the US... but the H&R's are readily available.

ive got Yokohama AVS Sports, they stick to the road like anything, but they are a soft compound so i'll be lucky to get 10k out of a set....

incase of a flat ive got some instant tyre foam can in the boot, which is enough to get me home.... (although i wouldn't really like to find out)

your A4 brings back some happy memories for me, i had a 98 A4 1.8 Turbo Quattro Sport before the MINI and it was running on 225/35/ZR18's with some BBS alloy in the middle.... had it dyno'd at 237bhp before i blew the head to peices while racing a Lancia Delta HF Intergrale @ 150mph thats the reason why i know have the MINI! (god i loved that car), although it cant touch the MINI for handling...

yours does look sexy as F.U.K though !!
Blew your top end?

Yikes!

Thanks for the comments Lee... Interesting on the AVS sports... I didn't think they made them in that size. Tirerack.com does not list them.

I'm running a Garrett T-28 turbo with software allowing the car to blow to 23 psi... I've measured 245 at the wheels... Estimated power at the crank is 285 hp / 310 ft lbs.

Others with the same setup have run the 1/4 in 13.2, 107 mph in the trap.

I also have a Stage III+ clutch with dual springs all around... The car will launch like its nobody's business... Chipped S4s, E36 M3's, and WRXs are my daily diet.

As far as handling goes... in comparison to a Stock Cooper S with 17's, my A4 wins hands down... On the one I test drove I had the tires squeeling in the first curve.

But add some 18's and coilovers and I bet its an entirely different story.
