2x orange dots on coil springs ?

2007 Cooper s R56 mini :-
Hi real quick one what’s the 2x orange spots on the front suspension coil springs mean, I remember reading on here somewhere but can’t find it now ?

There are a number of stock springs for
each model. The one spec’d for a
particular car depends on the weight
with the options on that car’s build.
You can find the part number of the
correct spring by plugging the options
and/or the VIN into the ETK spring table,
but I have no idea how you match the
part #to the colour and number of marks
on the spring.

r right that’s interesting thanks for that most appreciated, Was just curious if it was JCW suspension or anything like that but I’ll check into it thanks again
I believe the JCW suspension option springs
(note, JCW models don’t have this standard,
need to option or add this specifically) have
red rather than black springs (and a
10mm drop in ride height).
