Hi,
I'm STILL trying to source a 16Gb iPhone 3G! Once I do, I'll try and sync it with my Parrott...Bluetooth that is!

Picking my 16gig up today. :D Unfortunatly dont have a handsfree kit so cant test it on that, sorry.
I have one and it works perfectly, but didn't the first three attempts, try using a longer passkey, that's what I had to do eventually. Also works with the USB audio!

O2 sores and Carphone Warehouse have no more stock of iPhones left. Only Apple Stores have any stock and they will be gone soon...

There's been two or three reports of all-good over on NAM

Yeah, I've seen others mention that their phone will only allow pairing with four digits- I used five with my Blackberry...
Well mine wouldnt work at all with four digits, it kept saying "pairing error". My Blackberry however worked with four. Weird eh.
I'm thinking about getting a 3g Iphone, but for anyone who has one, i would like to know, that when the iphone is connected to the stereo aux connection via the headphone socket to play music, can you still use other applications such as gps, and the final question, when you usually charge your ipod, you can not play music, as i imagine gps drains the phone battery, can you have it connected to an in car charger and still use all the applications.
Has anyone tried the 3g iphone with the non usb mini ipod adaptor - the one in the glove box - I am thinking that won't charge
I plugged my iPhone 3G into the official ipod adapter for the first time today Mikey.. You are right, it comes up 'this device is not compatible, therefore it will not be charged' - then it comes up 'would you like to enable airplane mode to reduce audio interference?'.. Quite a good idea so you don't get that annoying noise through the speakers. Aside from the charging issue it works just the same as my iPod touch did with the MINI Sat-Nav system :)
Plugged my Iphone 3G into my mini using the official Y cable then plugged it into my Full Bluethooth and USB setup. It comes up with the same message as Mini Me GB, but I get a charge symbol on the battery on the top right hand corner, so I think it maybe charging?

Anyway, full fuction on phone and ipod via the radio and steering wheel fuctions. Will check the GPS, but I dont think I can as there is no official 'proper' GPS software for the iphone yet, the only thing that uses GPS at the moment is the google maps, that seems rather flakey for me - ie can not seem in pin poin me at all on the map.

But will try it and report back.

Kimmy
OK, the testing didnt quite go to plan, lol, :p
The Y cable is very short so I wasnt able to sensibly see if the GPS was working or not whilst trying to drive at the same time ( and I didnt have a passenger to check for me  )

So will have another go at it over the weekend with some friends to keep an eye on it for me.

Would it be possible to extend the Y cable do you guys think? I wanna mount the phone further up or above the key slot if possible, to replace my Tom Tom at a later date.

Kimmy
Yea I'd like to do something like that with mine.. The GPS on mine works really well, I've been a passenger a few times and it follows the map very accurately - the only problem is the phone reception isn't great here so when I'm zoomed right in and it loses signal it can't download the maps.
I guess one way to do that would be to recreate the USB and Aux ports in another place. I.e. plugging in male to female cables which effectively would extend the ports. Therefore it is possibly but not the neatest of things to do without dismantling the dash. As far as I know there is no longer version of the Y cable available.
As Mini Me GB said the GPS seem to follow very well, quite impressed with it =P

Shame it does not do what a proper GPS does (give turn by turn instructions), but I am sure it will change when companies like TomTom (mabey?) offer software for the iPhone.

The extention using the male - female method seems like an idea, just need to locate a holder to mount the iPhone onto now so it can be mounted with Mikeys no hole mounts maybe?

You can select not to use Airplanemode when asked (think you just select cancel) and that way you can use the phone.

Also, if you have problems with the Bluetooth connection- try turning WiFi off, since they overlap in frequencies they can interfere with each other.
