Alignment Before and After

Hi,

just had an alignment done on my 2020 Mini Cooper s jcw. The attached photo shows a before and after.

I have two questions for anyone in the know:

1) the printout shows manufacturers recommended data for a R56 hardtop 2006-2013. My car is a 2020 F56. Would that make a difference to the initial targets, making my car look wrong, even though it may have been right (or closer to right)?

2) granted I am very far removed from being an expert, but I don’t see that the “after” Looks a lot better than the “before”. Can anyone weigh in on that?

Appreciate your help in advance.

After/current readings don't look all that good. No need to list specific settings. The graphic and the colors tell the sad tale...

Even if your MY car has the same settings at the 2006/2013 models your car didn't even get those settings.

Never had to have my JCW aligned but I have had other cars aligned and when done right the after graphic has the indicators in the indicated proper settings and all blocks are green.

You need to find a shop that has the alignment settings for your car and have the car properly aligned.

Couple of points. One is the alignment settings on the rack are static settings but with the right settings the wheels/tires should assume a good position with the car underway.

Another point is if you have made any suspension changes, lowered the car, changed wheels/tires, added/subtracted offsets, or have worn out tires almost certainly the alignment will be sub-par and that is not necessarily the fault of the tech.

Thanks for getting back so quickly - I really appreciate your insight.

Looking back at the invoice from the garage, it itemises a charge for “Check and Front Adjust”. And I guess that is technically what they did - the front total toe and steer ahead angles are now both in green, as are both individual front toe angles. I would have thought they would have corrected the cambers, so I may have a word.
Once again, thanks for your help.
