I had these on a Citroen a couple of years ago and they were great! They were particularly useful when passing other cars in narrow lanes (it is Cornwall, you know). I would go to pass another car and then at the last moment I would press the button and the car would effectively narrow by about 7 or 8 inches. Was great, wish I still had it.

If you think that MINI charge a lot for it - go into a Volvo dealership and see how much they charge. That's the only reason I don't have it on my current company car. I would have definately had it on my Cooper if it had been available just 4 months ago!

Door mirror life expectancy

i've never had folding mirrors and in the 5 odd years of driving i don't think i've ever scrapped my mirrors.

think they look cool though

Interesting one this. I used to work for a Bristol based company. My colleagues used to have their cars stolen or pick up dents when their cars were parked. However I, living in Cornwall, used to get my mirrors ground away as a result of narrow lanes with cornish banks (sort of like a hedge, but made of granite - very crunchy when you brush them with a mirror!)

Depends on where you live, I suppose.

Thanks all for the input. Seems like the people who have them like them so i will leave it on my spec. Will have to go without the traction control, although i dont think i will be driving it to its full potential to make the most of it!

As I said before I'm a fan of folding mirrors.

I ordered traction control on the MC really just to make sure there wasn't a blank on the row of switches! It does that job really well, but as far as having a practical use, I haven't found it yet

Therefore, good choice!
