Another Stupit AUX Question!

Hi

Can someone answer this question?

I've a 04 MCS with the standard Wave Cassette radio (I know cheap skate but no way was was i paying BMW the extra for a single CD player)

I now want to connect an ipod /Zen to the unit.

I've looked at the back of the radio and it has a 10 pin extra connector on it.
from searching the web i found the following diagram which is nearly the same as my unit

It would seem to me to be a simple matter of wiring the output to the following pins
Pin 9 and 10 for aux R and L and Pins 4 and 5 are grounds!
Have tried this and no joy the mode button does not do anything (even when a MP3 player is connected and playing)

am i missing something ?

Has anyone wired an Aux to the back of the Standard WAVE Cassette unit?
and how?

or am i wasting my time?

I am not too sure but you might need an adapter for the aux input to work with the Wave
MikeytheMini is the expert you need.
check his site, www.newministuff.co.uk
also if you do a search in the forums i am sure that there will be a solution
