Anyone remove the A/C from your street car?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you did, how did you keep the radiator fan from running all the time?

My car now has no A/C and we tried several different things to return the fan to normal operation, but none of these worked...

1) ground the A/C connector from the harness
2) 12 volts to the same connector
3) jumped the pressure switch connector from the harness
with no ground to the compressor connector
4) jumped the pressure switch connector from the harness
with a ground to the compressor
5) pulled both A/C relays from the box underhood
6) pulled A/C fuse from same box

Obviously, the DME is seeing the A/C as being "on" with nothing plugged into the compressor harness and with no pressure at the switch.

I've never seen a MINI from the factory without A/C, but they offer this to replace the compressor...

...which I have installed, so I wonder if there is a DME flash for vehicles without A/C?

Anybody? Any input? Thanks.

If there is no pressure at the switch then the fan should not run.

Have you tried just plugging the AC components back in to see if the fan switches off? It may be something else switching the fan.

Thanks for the reply.
I found a guy on NAM that plugged the pressure switch back in and turned off the fan. I'm going up to the shop later to grab the switch and try it. As long as the fan comes on when it should, i'll be happy.

Thanks again for your input.
