Hi all I’m hoping I’m posting this in the correct place. I have a R53 JCW Mini and the ASC warning comes on every now and again. Now I’ve got myself a code reader and I’m picking up a p0340 code (camshaft position sensor) now I’ve checked and it is definitely the camshaft position sensor that’s playing up so that will be replaced but why is this sensor setting of the ASC warning light and not the engine management light?
Cheers all 👍

part of driveline when dme **** a fault asc is part of drive line that in some cases is effected, also gen 1 cars were more of rover group thing that bmw changed a few things to suit their diagnostics views ,, so not all diagnostics tools see all fault codes , inta inpa do snap on diagnostics and most expensive trade tools,, cheapest option that sees it all and no doubts of missing anything is autocom cdp plus for under £50 works on anything on the road proper garage level
