I recently took my 2006 MINI Cooper for detailing. When I picked it up the radio on/off button was broken off and the audio controls on the steering wheel no longer worked. They ordered me a new on/off button from MINI, however they did not own up to the steering wheel controls no longer working. Is there a connection on the factory installed radio/CD player that may have been knocked loose? :crying:

Hi

I had that with my 2006 Mini. It is most likely just the switch has stopped working. I bought a cheap donor wheel off ebay and swapped the buttons over. Mine was the right hand rear button. It is a pretty easy job if it is the rear one, just a case of unscrewing it. To remove the front one you would probably also need to remove the airbag. There are a few how to guides on YouTube for this, not to difficult a job.
