You might have seen refferences I've made in another thread to the Quicksmart stroller that I bought. Well, I've found a website for it now. You can check it out here .

The amazing thing about this stroller is that it is CHEAP :D :D For less than $100 Aus you have something that can fit in your MINI :)

Availability of QuickSmart stroller in the UK

Contacted the Australian manufacturer, who came back with the following info for UK parents...

"We actually have appointed Dorel UK (Safety 1st) as our distributors for the Quicksmart Stroller.

We are both working closely together to get product suitable for the UK market within early 2005.

we found 2 strollers that fitted in the boot of the MINI.

there's one thats a jeep brand. we didn't buy that because to sit up/lie down the baby you had to pull and tighten this string arrangement, and it was all too difficult.

the other, and the one we bought was a love 'n' care brand. cheap chinese thing (about $169). four wheels, steering, suspension, hood, lie flat or sit up, with a really big luggage basket underneath. folds and fits perfectly in th boot of a mini. weighs less than 9KG, and its tough as nails, too.

We bought it at cuddles 'n' mum at casula, but I think they have been supersceded now. (typical)

now that explains where the Quinny Zapp came from, as its branded Safety First, both compaines are part of the Dorel Group;)
Hello Friends
I would love to share about hauck tandem stroller for kids a new innovation from the uk based company .They are have got good collection of strollers . I'm pleased to have one and I wanted my friends to have a look into this once .
Hauck are a German based company actually, and not available in Australia as far as I know which is what this thread is about;)

But would be interested to know how you get a tandem into your MINI?
Targe may be the option

Guys

We've been looking at replacing our Quinny Zapp with the hope of finding a reclining stroller that fits in the Mini as looking to sell our Cabrio to get a tin top.

Following much research I stumbled upon a stroller in Target which I "think' will fit in the mini (probably not cabrio), it's pretty well made and has all the things we're missing with the zapp, eg. carry basket, recline to flat, boom bar, etc.

All for under $300, and could even be on sale now for nearer $200.

Know in Europe as the Petite Star Zia, its not a bad little product, worth a go;)

Only downside is that it doesn't rearward face as a pushchair, which is now what people are wanting after a recent report on how facing away from parent slows a childs speech development down.

BBC NEWS | UK | Which way should your baby face?

And long term use of a car seat to get the child facing rearwards is also not recommended as it can obstruct the airways, effect development Car seats could harm children's development - Telegraph
This is an oldie! Since we bought that pram they have re-designed them and they are much better and less flimsy. They are still pretty good value too last time I looked.

Of course since then our children have outgrown prams!

And you out grew the MINI too:)

The clubman hasn't taken off (and that's an understatement) in Aus for reasons of cost and the silly back door. ;) I spoke to another ex-MINI owner a couple of nights back with two kids and he had the same issues I had the the car.

If those issues were addressed I'd likely be back in a flash. :) Don't know if it will ever happen though...
