Thought I'd revive this question since I need a new exhaust on my 2002 MCS. A resonable stainless seems cheaper than the Mini original (none-stainless) from the dealer.

Would prefer Milltek based on reviews of the sound - don't want anything to loud, but a little throatier would be OK. Trouble is it does not have the certificate I need to be legal in Germany without jumping through hoops at the TÜV [similar to MOT].

soooo can anyone give experience of the Bastuck? (especially how load & type of sound compared to stock and Millteck).
I believe the milltek is the most well reputed exhaust for the MCS

But it's not TÜV approved... not legal in Belgium as well...
The Bastuck with 1 silencer is loud, BUT seems to be approved in Belgium. Don't really know about the TÜV.
hiese Xefke :D

Bastuck is loud but has a very nice sound
I have my bastuck almost 3 years and still loving it
I can't post a link to my alta-bastuck MCS on youtube
search on mini alta bastuck and you will see
hy i was wondering what the best exhaust would be to stick on my mini one? im thinking just a catback, i want something that sounds quite deep and not amazingly loud (live in a very quiet neighbourhood) but i want a bit more BHP as well! :)
Dangixxer - the Bastuck sounds lovely! What sort of price is it?

Either Milltek or Borla seem to have a more subtle exhaust note.

around 650 euro => 500 GBP
Some millteks are having issues. Several with collapsed baffles and a few with holes in welding etc. I am suffering both and also had a failed milly manifold/cat too! Just be aware that some folkshaving issues. i loved my miltek system but maybe they are loosing some quality?!
Could just be that the bigger numbers and more people with flowed heads ain't helping. It might be fine for standard/slightly tweaked it just can't cope much after that?

batou is bang right ive been speaking to my supplier (quicksilver) and they offer 2 systems the sports (for stock to 210ish) and super sports for 210+

the issue with the manifolds is the same, they were designed and tested on stock cars and are not capable of dealing with the flow of pulleys and big valve heads

there are a few out there that can cope as they have been designed too
The Bastuck can handle 215bhp as shown on Dangixxer's MCS.
I'm thinking of placing the bastuck exhaust but with the first silencer as well.
It 'll be more expensive but the good thing is, if I want a harder sound after a while. I just kick the first silencer out and order the bypass tube.

Greetings
