Best Place to get OZ Superleggerras (UK)?

843 Views 10 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Ibb
Hey guys!

My MCS is just 2wks away from pickup. All the way up in Heugh in Scotland, I live all the way down in the SW in Bristol. I managed to get a delivery time of only 4wks for a new MCS to my spec, but had 1 day to finalise my spec :D

I'm gonna replace the 17" S Spokes with a set of 18" OZ Superleggerras.

I'm in the phase of trying to find myself the best deals, and was hoping some of you guys might be able advise me from where I can get a good deal.

And for those who are wondering, yes I am gonna sell my S Spokes, worst comes to worst they'll have a max of 500miles on them. (Would I be right for asking £700 for the set?)

Thanks in advance guys! ;)

The best price I have soo far is £1'155 with Federal 225/40/18 tyres.

I think the tyres are too wide, and will rub though?
Anyone else able to get cheaper than this

I think you might get trouble with those tyres, the size may cause you problems...

try elite direct (not sure of the web address), i got quoted £110 each for pirelli Pzero Neros in 215/35/18 (fantastic tyres)....
I'm looking for the best wheel and tyre deal really, saves the hassle of getting the wheels and tryes seperately.

Thanks though, I checked Elite Direct out too. Very handy
225/40 is to big, 225/35 maybe.

I'd go with 215/40 or 215/35.

Thats what I had in mind.

Right guide me to some websites with good deals on these wheels guys! ;)
Which tyre thickness on 18s would be giving me the more accurate MPH figure, 35 or 40 (I think its 40 as the JCW wheels use this)? Just want to make sure.

Oh and does anyone know how much OZ SuperLs are in Halfords\Ripspeed, and what tyre is fitted? I would find out myself, but I have no car, and its such a trek to the nearest one (50mins by bus!).

I'd like to know cos I'll be going upto Scotland to pick my MCS up and there's a Ripspeed 10mins away, would be cool to have the OZs fitted ASAP. Otherwise on my way back to Bristol I'll get em in Burnley.

Cheers
215/35 is an almost exact match to the standard 15" wheel. 205/40 Runflats for the JCW 18"' is an overall bigger diameter.

You have to understand though that the profile on say a 215/40 is not the same as the profile on a 225/40.

YYY/XX

YYY = Tyre width, so a 215 stricty speaking should be the same on any 215 (The width of a tyre isn't always the same across all makes, but if you understand 215 being the contact patch's width).

XX is a percentage of the tyre width.

e.g.
215/35, the profie depth/thickness is 35% x 215 = 75.25mm
where as
215/40, 40% x 215 = 86mm
and
205/40, 40% x 205 = 82mm

Check HERE for the majority of the tyre sizes that are allowed on a MINI (i.e. within +/-3% of OEM tyre)

Incidently the 205/40-18 isnt listed but works out at 24.46" (621.2mm).

If you want better performance get 215/35 or 225/35 IMO.
