must use proper stretch bolts for them below links give details
the reason they use stretch bolts is due to heat and its a interference fit and normal bolts will loose tensile in time and spin and bend all the valves these bolts must be used once and thrown away ,, they are set 20nm then 90 degrees then a further 90 degrees,,, ie 180 degrees in total of stretch,, DO NOT REUSE THE OLD BOLTS ,

Thank you - I feel better about getting old and loosing. Question - The info you sent. Is the hub bolt the one that holds on solenoid? The diagram doesn't really show. For example - my mini 106000miles was giving p0012 232 . (comes and goes). I pulled original exhaust solenoid next to dip stick and did not look great. My plan is to replace intake and exhaust timing solenoids?
I really appreciate explaining bolt usage. I did read the haynes repair manual and does say not to re-use bolts. Reading is not understanding.

Can you tell us where you found a replacement? I am searching for one.
Call your nearest MINI dealership and have your VIN ready. Surprisingly the dealerships have some of the best prices on this stuff and it’s likely that they are still available.

My nearest dealerships are Seattle MINI and Northwest MINI, with both of them being about 150 miles away over 2 mountain passes. They will take my parts order over the phone and ship directly to me.

I did, however the bolt they quoted looked nothing like the one in the car. Made me Leary. Seems like the black self-aligning T30 bolts aren't made anymore.

Thanks for the quick response.
