Hi
Really after some pointers as I have run out of ideas.
58 Cooper D
When I got the car I only drove round the block but the turbo was noisy had a new turbo fitted but I got ill and didn't look at the car for 2 years, when I came back to it. No boost below 2K, fitted new boost control valve it cured intermittent boost problem but no boost below 2K, 3 or 4 people say it can only be the turbo, today fitted another turbo, which I sent away and had it tested first off sounded good but no boost under 2K then 1/2 mile down the road boost deviation code, got home to find the nozzles seized. I am going to send the original turbo off to be rebuilt.
Can there be something else wrong with? The latest guess is a previous owner had it mapped but it has lost it.
As I say any ideas are welcome right now.
Thanks Stu

Thanks for your reply Mike.
The guy who fitted this turbo is going to fit the one he took off back as the car was driveable with it, just no boost til 2K. The old turbo has very little end float feels smooth. I have asked elsewhere for advice and both places have said MAP or EGR. I have a new EGR and have ordered a new decent MAP. He is going to try these as well. If that doesn't cure the problem I will either leave it as it is or break it, I can't justify spending any more on it.
Cheers Stu

The turbo on it is scrap so to make it driveable it has to be changed, it feels good for 10K so not convinced it's a oil pressure problem, I have a new EGR valve and have ordered a new MAP so they may as well be done . With 3 turbos on it, the fault has been the same, I can't believe all 3 have had the same fault, just this one only lasted a mile before the vnt seized, have disconnected the actuator and can only just move the arm up and down with a screwdriver, so the vacuum has little chance. As you know I've been unwell and a change in meds has put me back about 2 years so have to pay for most the work on it right now. I may feel differently when it is driveable again but have been told it needs new injector seals as well I have new seals but labour ain't cheap. Will see how things are when it's able to be driven again but mapping may be the solution.

Thanks for your offer, really appreciate it.
Will get a good price from the guy that did the turbo to swap it back, he is really fair and mobile so will get him to do the other bits too.
Drs sometimes get it wrong, my last check up apparently I should have been dead so meds changed now feel like I did after 2nd heart attack. Never forget my poor old mum doc said it was all in her head, she was right it was a brain tumour but whatever they say it's their best guess. Not knocking the NHS at all if it wasn't for them I'd be dead .
Will get these bits done probably next week and be in touch after.
Thanks again Stu
