Morning gents,
I'm about to have the front shocks replaced (passenger side leaking) - is there any point in replacing the bump stops /gaiters at the same time? I'm not after any sort of modification (shortening the stops etc) but while they're off...
Car has done 77K.

Cheers.

Cheers Mike,
Yeah, I'm definitely in the camp of 'do it right, do it once'. I might change them anyway, they're relatively cheap.
Good call about the top mounts - are they the same both sides (ie not handed)?

Thanks,
Rob.

Just a quick update on this - I ended up having the shocks (Koni FSD), gaiters, bump stops and top mounts replaced and what a difference it has made to the car! It's almost as dramatic as going from RF to non-RF tyres; the ride is just so much better now.
The garage shoved the old shocks in the boot and to be honest they were totally shot - one was leaking anyway but they were just so soft. The top mounts didn't look too bad but as Mike says you can't really tell the condition of the rubber just by looking at it and for the extra few quid it was defintely the way to go. All I need to do now is refit my strut brace and give it whirl down the twisty stuff (and consider if the wallet can afford to do the rears!). Happy days!
