So while cleaning the interior and the dash, I was cleaning the rear view mirror a little bit too vigorously, and it came off it's mount on the roof! oops :D

I've put it back on but it's not on properly at the front - and I can see increased vibrations when I drive.

It takes a lot of force to get on like this, and I can't get it to sit flush with the roof :( At the front, the windscreen end, there's a bit of a gap and that's why I'm seeing vibrations when I look in the mirror.

Has anyone got any experience of doing this properly please?

Take the mirror off again, remove the plastic trim over the mounting stem.

Refit mirror by having the mirror stem at 90 deg to the final position, push it up on to the base and turn it 90 to it's final position. Slip the trims back on.

Very little force is required.

Brilliant! Thanks very much :D

(PS: didn't need to move the trim/headliner at all)
