I want to change the plugs on my MINI One. Do you just pull the connectors off the tops like in other cars and then unscrew? And what size plug socket will I need; usual ones are 14 mils?
Thanks

I changed the spark plugs just last week. Very easy to do.
You need a 16mm spark plug socket & extension bar.

Nuno, I just bought mine at sparkplugs.co.uk at about GBP32 incl delivery (for 4).

Just got it and thinking to change them myself and need some DUMMIES GUIDE!:
(I haven't changed under the bonnet other than adding wiper liquid / adding engine oil!)

Have been searching around and basically know the theory of changing. But my ques are:
Grease - what sort of grease do I need???
When ppl say 1/16 or 2/3 - what do they mean??? 1/16 of a turn???

Appreciate help!

Thanks Kiansom. Changing spark plugs is easy but if the spark plugs are not fastened correctly a lot of things can go very rong, ex: holes in the cilinders:aargh:.
My advice: if you now someone who as a torque wrench , use it to corectly fasten the spark plugs. The correct value is 27nm.Do this while the engine is cold.
