I need help figuring out what is wrong with my 2013 mini cooper. The check engine light came on so I hooked it up to a OBD II scanner and it threw 3 separate ambient air temperature too hot codes. Does anyone know why it would be doing this? Is it going to be a larger problem down the road?

What color code is the engine symbol light yellow or red at this point?
What are the codes numbers or brief statement of them?
What engine are you running? or at least model. sounds like the N18 R56 S? or Base? N16?

as it is a mini cooper will be non turbo n16 engine, need to know what the codes are, ambient temp ie outdoors temps the sensor is behind the front bumper in wheel arch passengers side on left hand drive cars, if this reads wrong will effect how car fuels its self,
also what are you scanning it with as cheap hand held scanner dont show all codes ie P-codes dealer only, snap on diagnostics with euro update will if using a garage ,, or failing that autocom cdp or wurth snooper will and both are under $50 on line,

I think I am gonna check my sensor in the bumper tomorrow. And zip tie that back to the lower grill. :)
Thanx mike!
