The S brochure has a chili pack in it!? But most of the things in the cooper chili pack are included with the S!!

Does anyone have any idea what is in the chili pack for the MINI Cooper S?

Apparently the chili pack for the 'S' is available for 2,100 euros in Germany. At current exchange rates that's about £1,300 - seems a good deal to me, considering what's included :) Unless us Brits get ripped off again  What's the betting on the UK chili pack costing about £1,500?

Thanks matey, if the price is right should be a good deal.
Let's see if we can cost some of this stuff up based on known prices for the ONE/Cooper:

the chilli pack for the cooper s(order no. 872) includes:
cloth/leather seats "satelite" - £440
s-spoke wheel - unknown, probably £350/£400ish
height adjustable passenger seat - no idea - say £50?
storage pack - £20
fog lamps - £90
xenon - £350
man. ac - £600
light pack - £80
radio wave - standard in UK

Total cost of individual items based on "best guesses" - £1980. So at £1500 it might still be worthwhile if you want most of the options listed. Of course, if they charge too much we all clear off over to the continent to buy our cars and continue to grumble about "rip-off Britain".

For my part, I'm not at all sure I want the 17" wheels or the 1/2 leather, so I'm probably not going to go for it. I want DSC, climate control, the xenon lamps and maybe the 1/2 leather.

Which willlll cope better with baby vomit, BTW - leather, 1/2 leather or cloth? I'll need to know by August.
;)

Passenger Height Adjust £100 - just for your info

Dave
Anyone else noted that this Chilli pack givbes us in Europe the same sort of spec as the yanks, dutch and ozzies? Manual aircon, 1/2 leather, fog lamps ....

What? Wasn't BMW only refunding £50 to those owners who were promised Passenger Height Adjust on their MINIs but didn't get it due to a mistake at the factory?
just a thought....

Cheer up, i think(read 'hope') you may be in for a suprise!

UK base spec costs £14,500. But, the cheaper pre-specced model is going to cost £15,700 (according to posts in another thread) and this spec apparently includes manual air-con, xenen headlamps and some other bits and bobs.
IF this spec = Base + Chilli pack then Chilli pack costs £1200 :D

Given that the One and Cooper were initially only available with an option pack fitted, i wouldn't be at all suprised to find that the two models of pre-specced Cooper 'S' were fitted with packaged options, rather than some random combination of goodies.

Then again, i could be completely wrong
(it has happened before - 1998, if my memory serves me correctly.....)
Now you've gone and got me all excited again!:D

Although I want climate control rather than aircon, that plus xenon lights and the foglamps are on the list of mu "must-haves". Although I'm not sufficiently bothered by the 17" wheels or the 1/2 leather to pay the full price for them, if I can have all this lot for £1,200 I'll send |BMW the cheque right now! If it is really going to be £1,500, I'll think about it but will probably pass; over £1,500, or less in the pack than is listed above, and I'll definately pass.

I would go alone with that:) Makes more sense.

LMB:D
The Base pre-specced car will not have the 17 inch wheels though. And it will also have metallic paint so I dont think this will be the Chili Pack.

I peronally think the Chili Pack will cost around £1500 but even if they charge £2000 it will still be cheap.
Actually, at £2,000 you might as well pay for the options individually - you'd be making no saving, and giving up a lot of flexibility, based on the known option prices for the Cooper. Individually, they'll cost you £2,030 based on the prices given above!

I'd *not* be interested in the Chili pack at that sort of price.
Option package variation

Does anyone know if the Salt, pepper and chilli packs were the same across different countries, or were their variations due to the differences in standard specifications???

Maybe the UK 'S' chilli pack has different goodies compared with those aimed at Europe and the Colonies:D ;)
