Clock loosing time

Test your battery. The starter is a large drain and it may be just too much now.

Thanks , I was also thinking on those lines. Because last week working on my little beauty I had the radio on and the boot open.
Guess what , the battery was dead after less than 1 hour .It charges well and starts the car no problem but now up that said , it sounds like a bad cell

Nigel thanks . I have been away and tried to start it after being stood for a couple weeks . guess what dead, I pulled out the spare battery ( that i had in my garage)and started it right up even without charging it.

would if booking in to a garage ask them to read the pressures on the particulate filter in the exhaust DPF for short,,, it has two pressure sensors and when blocks up the back pressure will get pushed out of any weak point between it and the engine as such, the dpf filter on the psa diesels a service item 75000 miles is what volvo and ford do, nasty things

Hi .
i thought Nigels suggestion had worked.Spoke to soon.
Heres what happening
When i start the car it cranks over 4 maybe 5 times . If i does not start the starter drops out , then i see the clock back to --.-- . also the drivers window drops down about 1" .
Try again and there it fires up.
I went remove the starter motor and saw what a job that is , so i decieded to investicate other routes first.
It seems to me like a loss in power to all electrics .
Any more ideas before i remove the starter and replace it.(big job and exspence if thats not the problem)
