I'm after a new car next month and have been looking around at a few cars, one of which being a cooper s. Now then as its a 'hot hatch' im after next, fuel economy isn't top of my priorities however we all have our limits and i'm just after a bit of info really as i have heard the S is pretty poor on fuel.

I currently drive a toyota yaris t sport, which i drive erm, enthusiastically everywhere shall we say and see 33mpg. What am i likely to see driving a cooper S enthusiastically everywhere? My driving is mixed but mainly country lanes with a bit of town driving and a 7 mile dual carriageway to and from work each morning, in total i do on average 300 miles per week. which costs me about 40 quid in fuel with the Yaris.

*edit* should have mentioned, it'll be an 02-04 if i buy one.

Cheers for your help,

Matt

Just filled up from empty, £41 - should get 320-250 miles from that. And I drive on bypasses etc to work and back.

Get one, you wont regret. MPG isnt bad, and the noise is fantastic ;)

For a car that has a supercharger, and the performance given-it ain't all that bad. Especially better now petrol prices have come down somewhat
