Coolant is vanishing ????

Hi all, I have a 2003 Mini One 1.4 D with 116000 miles, Thing is I am losing Coolant and not really sure where. I have replaced the Thermostat this afternoon and flushing the coolant. Running me Car home I found my Heater still doesn’t work and got home and still losing fluid. After this, I re-filled the coolant and took me Daughter to work this being around 25-30-mile round trip, on return I found I had list just over 2litres of coolant???

Checked a few things, the oil cap had no sign of water (creamy type mess), the car doesn’t smoke, and doesn’t appear to have lost power. In addition, when the car comes to temperature. The hose to the right of the thermostat housing is cold and when you run your hands across the Rad, the right-hand side is warm and the left is cold (this is a new Rad is it meant to be like this) ???. Also, not sue if this should happen or not, though – with the car at tick-over (15 – 20 minutes) I am not loosing anything, so it appears it is under load so to speak ???

Please any ideas ???

the diesel engine on gen 1 cars is a toyota engine they do suffer from head gaskets with age and dont take much to leak in such a way that only on full loads ie when on road and under full pressure when they do this in early stages 1 drip every 1 second would not be seen out the exhaust it was turn to light steam as such,,
this all said gasket/head repair would prob be more than car is worth, not saying this is a corrcet way to repair such a issue but i have used a few times on cars that owners did not want to spend the money on,, below link sealant
