whats the right mix for coolent in a mini ?

eg 50% coolnt 50% water
or 60 coolent and 40%water

whats the right mix?

dont want to sound thick but can i use any coolent or does it have to be the bmw stuff, reason i ask that its this mini is my first new car and dont want to mess it up lol

You should use BMW phosphate/nitrite free antifreeze. I wouldn't be concerned with it being BMW antifreeze but would make sure it is phosphate/nitrite free as obviously they must be harmful to a Mini engine. As MINIAC says, best to use distilled water.

Not the "Drinking Water" , but the labeled "Purified" bottled water is identical to "Distilled" bottled water.

Not only good for coolant mix (Steam Irons, Batteries etc.) but is also good for windshield washing or any 'washing' when you don't want water 'spots' like glasses or computer screens.
