Hi,
I was of the opinion that the Cooper S engine was the same as The cooper (ie same bore and stroke.) But have noticed that the cooper has a higher compresion ratio than the S. Can some one tell me if this is acheved by using different pistons or a diffeent head.

thanks
Chris

From the FAQs:
The Cooper and One use the same engine, codenamed W10B16, with differences in ECU programming. The 'S' engine, codenamed W11B16, has been extensively modified to meet the high demands in terms of power and torque. These modifications are described in detail in the Münchner Technologie Zentrum white paper entitled "The MINI Cooper S Powertrain", available in both English (no figures) and German.
