Dash color?

What kind of look are you going for? Splashy or classy?

I personally lean towards the HB interior with the black leather. I love the look of the body color colored interior. Not having seen the lapis blue with the hyper blue I don't know if they look good together. Have you?

If you get black, or even Lapis seats, I'd stay away from the anthracite dash. Its just too dark in there. If you want the Anthracite dash, go with one of the lighter color seats, like the silver/black cloth or leatherette.

Otherwise, the HB dash is really cool, but I think since the Lapis seats aren't the same color, you end up with some clashing blue going on in there. I know there's a picture somewhere of the combo, but I'd say black is best out of your choices with the HB dash. (and what I'd go for, though I'm definetly not a fan of the MINI leather seats, so I have HB + the silver space cloth)

I think I am looking for something a little more classy, but on the other hand, it's a MINI, so there is no hiding how much fun it is.

I really like the HB dash, but I agree, it may be too much with Lapis Blue. I wish there was another leather color that would look good with the HB. Black just seems so boring. I really like the two-tone seats.

I'd go black leather, hyper blue dash The color coded dashes are just soooo cool... I wouldn't pass it up.

I disagree that the anthracite dash is too dark. I did NOT want the anthracite dash, but its what came with my car. My previous MINI had the silver dash and I thought anthracite was going to be waaay too dark. Its not. I have black leatherette & the anthracite dash... I think its classy

I think I have eliminated Anthracite from my choices, seemply because I have to start narrowing at some point.

Now I just have to decide between the seats. Thanks for the idea about the chrome, I'll have to check that out!

Interior for Hyper Blue

Photos on web do not render color accurately. I have my MCS on order: HB/white with bodycolor interior trim and "lapis" blue + black full leather seats, standard headliner (not anthracite). My dealer has this exact car on his showroom floor, so I am confident that I will be happy with the color. The "lapis" leather goes VERY WELL with the HB dash, it cannot match exactly, since the HB is metalic and very shiny, but that serves well to mask the slight difference in hue. You cannot trust the color rendering on the Web as a guide to your decision. I think having the dash and full leather seats in blue makes the car look more classy and alive. The all black look is sooo boring!

In those pictures, is the blue cloth and the black leather? I wish we could get that here in the US. I ended up ordering mine with the blue/black full leather like robertjoy.

Wow, so many choices.

I really wish my dealer actually had a HB dash with leather seats on the lot. It's hard to tell just by looking at internet pictures.

I want to order my car within seven days...any more suggestions you can offer would be appreciated.

I know your moving away from the anthracite dash but I would go for the dark look. Black leather and an anthracite dash would look really classy and be a nice contrast to the more striking exterior. Also get the anthracite roof option (is this available yet?). Just MHO though

Do you know if you can retrofit a colour coded dash on an older 2002 model?
I would luv to take out my silver trim and put in a chili red dash leaving the rest of the inside silver

I know they changed the number of pieces from 5 to 3.. so I'm not sure how that would work with the passenger airbag

You could always just paint the dash. I'm painting my sideskirts come spring time and giving serious thought to painting my dash chili red as well. I think some other chili reds in our club are thinking about doing their dashes at the same time... we'll just have one big bulk order!

Yes the Black, (Dark gray in reality), is the Leather, while the Blue is Cloth.
Given the choice again though, I wish I`d have gone for Blue / Black Full leather as in my previous MCS ... for its Looks, ease of Cleaning, & Durability.

I ordered mine with the Lapis blue seats and the HB Dash. I was on the fence initially between the blue/black vs all black leather seats. In the end, I thought it looked and felt more sporty with blue/black seats. The HB dash was a given when I saw one at the dealer, it just looks cool

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what color is the door if you get a hyper blue dash and Lapis Blue Seats? Do I get to choose that too?
