Have just had fitted some 16” winter wheels, replacing my 17” summer set.
Does this affect the speedo calibration. The dealer said not but I can’t see how the car knows the wheels have been changed.
Any thoughts?

Shorter sidewalks on the 17” tires
makes for same overall diameter
as on the 16” ones (give or take a smidge).

It will depend on the profile of the tyres. I presume the 17” tyres were 55 profile, to keep Speedo etc reading correctly you will need to go up a size on profile to 60.
