Discoloured Rear Lights

One of my rear lights on my 03 MCS seems to be discoloured compaired to the other side, now I've started to look at other Mini's and have noticed that quite a few have rear lights that look slightly different to each other, with one looking a bit matt. Anyone else noticed and is there a cure?:puzzled:
