As title, I bought my car from a trader but the previous owner had bought the car from Broad Oak Mini Canterbury, in February this year, with (I believe all used minis come with) a 12 month Cherished warranty.

Does this mean I can transfer the remainder of this warranty into my name?

I was never informed of this at the time?

EDIT: Have just found the 'change of details' forms in the used Mini handbook... Is it a case of simply sending these off if I am correct?

AFAIK regarding UK cars

If the car is still in it's original warranty period then the warranty is possible to move to the new owner - you can use the change of ownership form to do this or visit a dealer service department and they will update the details

Cherished warranty is with the original purchaser under the cherished scheme

I am sure that someone will be along soon to correct me if I am wrong

Just gave mini Canterbury a call and was told the car does indeed have a 'used' Mini warranty until next Feb (My car is a 53 reg, so out of the 3 year warranty) so thats good news.

She said that the warranty goes with the car and not the owner, so I hope she was right!

I presume the 'used' warranty is the same thing as the 'Cherished' warranty?

Only other thing I was told is that the '1 yr used' is not as comprehensive as the original 3yr warranty.
