Extreme noob question here, but I'm in the market for a Mini Cooper S. I've found a pretty nice one i the area. The only thing I'm wondering is if the 2002 S already has the Sport package installed, or if that was still an option. This is for the US models. Also, are there other options that come standard on the S that I should know about?

Any and all help would be much appreciated!

The Sport Package was an option and included:
  • Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)
  • Front Fog Lamps
  • 17" Alloy Wheels
  • Xenon Headlights
  • Bonnet Stripes
In comparison to the Cooper model, the following were standard equipment on the Cooper S:
  • Supercharged engine
  • 6-speed manual Getrag transmission
  • 16" Alloy Wheels
  • Sport Suspension Plus
  • Traction Control (ASC+T)
  • Sport Seats
  • Alloy Patina Trim

Was that not known as the Chilli S pack?
The US market didn't have packages named Chili, Pepper and Salt. In 2002, there were Sport, Premium, and Cold Weather Packages. The Sport Package differed between the S and Cooper models, but the Premium and Cold Weather Packages were the same.
