Just thought I'd share this bit of info' with you all....

We had our JCW Stage 1 tuned R56 Cooper S dyno tested a couple of weeks ago and this was the result after a couple of runs.

Maximum engine power @ 5941 rpm was 207.9 bhp.

Maximum engine torque @ 3270 rpm was 300.3 Nm.

The car is standard apart from an ITG foam filter and was running on Shell V Power petrol.

I believe that this was an accurate test as there were other R56 Cooper S's tested on the day to make a comparison. For example, one standard R56 Cooper S tested at a maximum BHP of 171.

It's not the worlds most powerful Mini, but 207.9 bhp is enough to get me into trouble!!!

The more I think about your run Paul the more I see how good a run it was. Your seeing 16bhp & 30Nm up on what the JCW kit is said to give you! Must be helped by the new filter and the V-Power jungle juice! :)

Very nice numbers! Thanks for posting a relative number for a standard R56 MCS too, helps give perspective on the dyno's characteristics. Is there a chance to see a larger, higher resolution picture? It looks like your car redlines closer to 7k RPM rather than the usual 6500....can you verify this please?!

The engine did red line at 7100rpm, but the power dropped off at just over 5900 rpm.

They come out way more than they state. For instance a standard S is supposed to be 175bhp and most come out way over that. Mine with only a JCW exhaust hit 197.6 and was also done at AMD Essex where Tara&Paul had theres done. Thats where im getting mine remmaped also.

Mini Cooper S JCW R56

Ok cheers everyone, I was again wondering where you can get this milltek exhaust from. Iv checked ebay but there around £350 unfitted. Therefore, is this addition really worth that. Also does anyone know where i can see a picture of this part installed i.e. does it look like the JCW exhaust already fitted to my car? and also does is it sound louder. Im not into that whole "chav" scene and so I don't really want to fit an it, if its is too loud.

Lohen ( Welcome To Lohen.co.uk - The UK's Best Independent New Mini Tuning and Performance Specialists ) will supply and fit the Milltek hi-flow cat for you. I gained an extra 10bhp (AMD dyno verified) with the Miltek cat' and it improved our mpg as the engine isn't working as hard to push the exhaust gases out.

All the R56 S engines, the 175, 192 and 208bhp engines use exactly the same restrictive cat' it's only the rear silencer's that are different.

Hi Guys

We can offer the Milltek exhaust system along with custom mapping as a package deal.

We have been working closely with Milltek.... keep an eye on their website for the R56 Mini article regarding P-Torque mapping and the Milltek systems :D

Are you ever going to have another branch or anything as handfuls of people from my area want a remmap but cant take the time to see you or afford the fuel as we are over 4 hours away from you. AMD was ment to come up with a remmap for it but think they lost interest when they heard the price of the tool so not much chance getting one there i dont think. Or will you be going mobile etc as i can get a group buy.

Hi Turbs

How did you get power figure quotes from them if they never had the correct to flash them?

I'm afraid we tune all the later Mini's in house on the dyno so it can only be carried out here.

If you aren't so bothere about the dyno, then I may be able to arrange a visit if you can get enough interest.

It is worth travelling to get the best and most reliable results though :)
