Hey Guys,

I don't really know where to post this Mods feel free to move it.

I have started to video tape some of our MINI runs, however i would like to record the engine/exhaust sounds instead of what is going on in the cabin. You can hear some of the engine but when I'm playing music it overpowers the engine sound.

So I'm hoping some one can help out....

1. Where should an external mic go as best to pick up some engine/exhaust notes and not cabin noise/music/chat??

2. Any suggestions on a certain type of mic.

The mic would have to be placed away from the wind and away from the exaust otherwise the mic might saturate, use an electret tie-clip balanced type.

If this video captures the sounds you want try asking on MiniTorque.com.......some nice supercharger whine but there does seem to be a lot of background/wind noise?
