they are very black more so on cars that dont get long trips as dpf filter will load oil with carbons from clogging and lack of regens, if were my car 8k oil filter changes are better way forward as those engines suffer timing chain failures for a past time N47 diesel

all diesels need to be driven once a week at 3000 revs for 40 minutes if possible that will force a passive regen helps to keep them healthy ,, also would just before change oil do a 45 minutes run same way as they load oil with diesel when partly clogged

Yes they benefit from a good blast ,l know. My 150k V70 only started giving trouble after I retired. Fifty miles a day to twenty a week soon had a new dpf and egr on the cards.

All part of the fun with ease modern boxes!!
