Hi guys,

I have become a bit paranoid with my mini countryman S and fear it will break down all the time after I had a bad experience.

Having already spent nearly 3k between a new timing chain, new turbo, hpfp and all engine sensors, coil and spark plugs packs, several oil and filter changes etc.

Now the car runs well. Though, I noticed that when cold, there is a little trotting sound when accelerating slowly.

Since the last oil change (500-600miles ago), I am keeping a close eye on engine oil. Is it correct that it uses roughly a quarter per thousand miles?

Is this engine sound in the video normal? Here is the video

here is while driving

Thoughts?

I wonder if it is normal for the n18 engine to sound a bit like a diesel when the car is really cold.
