I'm trying to remove the Eolys additive container on my Cooper D from 2008 and I can't get the bolt that holds it off, it's just spinning.

I was aware that it can be a hassle to get this thing off, for example like in the video below. I've read in this forum that some people have hacksawed the bolt off (Fuel additive eolys 176) but I can't seem to get enough gap to get a hacksaw blade in there...

Does anyone else have any tricks to share how to get it off?

I hacksawed the bolt but the upper part is still in place - does anyone have any clever ideas how to get it out so I can put a new (longer) bolt in?

I think it is stuck in the nut and when trying to push it up nothing happens. I don’t know if drilling it will be possible.

So, I tried to drill the remaining parts of the old screw but slipped an accidentally made a new hole through the plastic next to the old screw. This wasn't so bad though, I was able to get a 8mm screw through there and some washers and nuts on both sides did the trick.

Now the only thing that remains is to reset the additive counter - when I go into the "service info" meny, I can't reset it but it says its 90000 km remaining (or was is 9000 km?) probably because I accidentally reset it when I did another service (I thought the symbol was for the fuel filter and found out later that symbol was for the diesel additive...).

I guess I need to get to a workshop to get it reset for real.
