Hi,

Recently started my 2002 Cooper, and on the centre dial, instead of "D", it shows "EP".

Checked the manual, and it indicates that this means that some forward gears are available, not all.

Anyone has had this before?

Appreciate any advice on this.

Thank you.

Had it once briefly due to an electrical problem, there wasn't anything actually wrong with the gear availability. However, if yours is still indicating EP I'd get it into the dealer right away. In fact even if the EP has gone away, you should get it checked out.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

Yeah, thought better thing to do was to bring it for a check.

It goes away after I turn off the ignition, and then re-start it again.

Strange though....

What happened here? Did you get it fixed? What did they find?
