Estimated Delivery Date

Hello -

So what does Estimated Delivery Date really mean? My car on OL has been updated to include an estimated delivery date of 1/2/2005 It is still at status En Route. It landed in Charleston on 12/29/2004 and I can't believe that it would get thru the VDC and to Ohio in four days. ASK-MINI is closed for New Years (when I used the automated status it said my vehicle is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel!). My guess is the date is when it will be finished at the VDC?

TIA,

TIA,
The EDD is the date that the car is "expected" to arrive at your dealership! GOOD NEWS for you! My MCS landed on the east coast, went through the VDC and was at the dealership in 4 or 5 days, if memory serves... Mind you, this just occured in late Oct - early Nov 2004! So, yes, if all is going well (which it sounds like it is), your MINI will cruise through the VDC and arrive at the dealership on Sunday! I would be very interested in seeing it on Monday (maybe Sunday, but it is the weekend and most services at the dealership are closed; they will only receive the car) if I were you! It is great to finally see it in the flesh!

Post pics when you get them!

I wish I could go see it, but it's gonna be a bit hard for me, the dealer it's being delivered to is in Ohio, and I live in Seattle! :) :) :)
It will prolly be a week to two weeks before I will see the car.

Cheers,
GianniB,

My mini must have been on the same boat as yours. I called ask mini yesteraday when they were open and they had no info of any use. They showed that it was still en route when i know in fact that it arrived in Charleston on 12/29.

I was told that it is likely to be at the VDC for 3 to 5 days and then 2 to 3 days more to be delivered to my dealer in the Chicago area. So if the VDC was open today I guess that means that my dealer will receive my mini possibly as early as next Thursday or Friday and maybe as late as the following Friday. I would imagine Ohio and Chicago are approximately the same so you are likely on the same schedule. Of course then the dealer will need 2 days or so to add on some options if you ordered dealer add ons.

The OL on my Mini said En Route, and ASK-MINI said "At the port awaiting shipping vessel" until this afternoon. I got "the call" from my MA and picked up my Mini, drove it home, then checked the OL which now says, "At VDC", and an estimated delivery date of 1/2/2005. This was the first time I even had an estimated delivery date show up.

Hope this helps.
My mini must be the last to post on the OL. By the time they posted that my mini was scheduled for production - it was already built. By the time they posted that it was en route - it had already been at sea for two days. Now I know my mini arrived in Charleston on 12/29 and the OL still says its En Route - and so does ask mini. So I imagine that like Cherry - when it posts that its at the VDC I will probably have been driving it already.
Mine now has a status of At Distribution Center and the estimated delivery date is now 1/3/2005. Stay on target...

Ciao,

Call your MA!!!! I live in AZ and ordered my MCS through San Antonio, TX. My MA took pics for me when it arrived (every side, engine bay, interior, wheels, gas cap etc etc), in the showroom, after they put on the window tint! It is cool to finally see it since you have been waiting so long! I have yet to hear of an MA not taking some pics for their customers!

In fact, a good portion of the pics are still in my gallery! :D
Mine arrived in the US on the 29th also. Called dealer they said would be at dealer around the 9th. :D :D :D
Mine arrived at the dealership today. Now I'm waiting to see what the schedule of the shipper is going to be...

That was the only tough part for me in the equation! Telling the shipper they can pick up the car only to call and wait to hear word from the dealership that the car was released to the buyer (me). Then they have to work it into their schedule. Seems tough to handle but it will go quick if the shipper is good!

Glad to hear that it arrived! Has the MA said they would take some pics? You will typically receive some pics as MINI dealerships will have you come to the dealership and drive your car from the showroom. At the very least, they will take pics of your car IN the showroom to show you how the MINI looked prior to the shipper taking possession of the car. This way they can say they "prepared" it properly!

Cheers
She sent me one this AM of it in the back lot. Seen one red MINI, seen them all :)

Cheers,
I called Miniusa today and was told my Abbey was en Route to VDC. I informed them it was scheduled to dock SC yesterday. He then told me if this is so you should get it mid next week. That's great news since I was told when I ordered her to expect her later part of Feb.
Woohoo! Can't wait. BTW, I sent my MA a selection of posts concerning freebies that I cut and pasted from this board. Asked him if he could match what was shown to which his email reply was "We can't do everything shown but we'll try." We'll see what that means. Either way, I am thrilled to know it's so close to arriving.
