It may be that you have fitted the wrong wattage bulb, a blown bulb or wrong bulb will also bring on the dash light.

Thanks for your reply. Hubby said he has put the correct wattage bulb in so i really dont know?

Is there a way of disabling the lighting minder?

I had the same issue, I fitted a bulb which looked ok but was too bright.

I bought two new bulbs which fixed the fault, there is a lighting control module which checks bulbs constantly, I don't think they go wrong.
