Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone has had this error message on a 2015> Auto Cooper S.

Currently every time we switch the car off, we get an amber warning message "Transmission" Secure vehicle with parking brake when stationary. Have the problem checked by Service. I had a friend run a diagnostic tool on the car, which wont clear the error. On the tool it says "Shiftlock solenoid selector lever wrongly not locked in P" code 4201 06.

BMW have taken a look and quoted for a new control unit at £958+VAT to replace.

I need to add that there is nothing wrong with the car - the auto box works fine, it selects "P" without any issue and is engaged ok as I cannot move the car even with the handbrake off.
