Your N18 car suffers the same issues as the N14 engines. The cam chain is still a weak point.All mini did was fitted a timing chain tensioner with more adjustment but the chains still wear out as before.
Not sure what mileage car your looking at but if it's over 60,000 it will need looking at doing if not already replaced. Its not a cheap job either
