Sounds like the packing in the rear box is breaking down and blowing out. All that will happen is it will get louder. I'd shop around for an exhaust but wouldn't even ask the likes of Kwik fit or National Tyres they are way to expensive. I've changed lots of exhausts but never a mini they aren't hard but as said above the higher you can get the car the easier it is.

I would never go to an exhaust centre they over charge as mainly fleet companies use them, try a local independent garage, 9 times out of 10 they are cheaper, recently had a price for a little peugoet the price difference on an exhaust was in the hundreds.
