I bought a set of 15" 7 hole pepper-pots off ebay for £25 and my pal got me a full set of Vredestein Snowtrac2 winter tyres (185/65/15). Had them fitted this morning instead of my 17" s-spokes with Toyo proxes TS-1 (205/40/17), so we'll see how they fare in the winter. Probably a bit of overkill for living in Scotland, however i like to go climbing, so i should be able to get home!!
First impressions on dry tarmac are that they are pretty quiet, and the ride is much smoother than with the 17"s - i couldn't explore grip and i haven't scrubbed them in and i has the S spokes in the back!!
The tread is directional, with about 9.5mm of tread when new and a "silica Nova 7degree" compound to give extra grip when cold.
any one else got feedback on these tyres?
Gerry
