Fitting 05 S Bumpers on an 05 Cooper

You'd be better buying the trim as well, I beleive the tota black pastic trim for the whole 04 car was about £35

On Pre 05 bumpers the trim was interchangeable between the cooper and cooper s. but the 05 cooper bumper trim raises up slightly in the middle and does not have a straight join with the bumper like the Cooper S on does.

Also the point at where the 05 bumpers curve up is slightly different to the pre facelift bumpers - We tried a plastic trim from a Mini One but it leaves a slight gap (4-5mm) at the either end of the plastic trim between the trim and the bumper.

do you know if you can buy a trim which will fit the 05 Cooper S Bumper but not have the centre exit cut out for the exhaust. I doubt BMW will make one as I dont think that they would aid people in the fitting of Cooper S bumpers to a Cooper.

If the 04 Cooper trim doesn't fit an 05 S trim, why don't you just get 04 Cooper S rear bumper and 04 Cooper Trim? I know they fit. I wasn't aware the S bumper had changed in anyway, except for the chrome bit on the front.

The Cooper S bumpers are the same as always, so a cooper/one trim from 04 or before will fit the S rear bumper, I fitted 05 S bumpers to my moms 03 cooper and used the 03 trim from the rear bumper...

you will need all 3 pieces fof trim from the cooper bumper to fit on to the S bumper

Thats what I thought

I thought it was the same too until I put a pre facelift cooper/one trim onto it - it does fit onto the main part of the bumper but leaves a tapering gap between the trim and the main part of the bumper at either end (not a massive gap 5 mm at its widest point tapering to nothing.

I am going to get another trim and see if that is the same - it could be the trim that we got for it is out of shape.

Thank you both for your help - hopefully I will get a trim that fits and fix the rear bumper on at the weekend.

The front of the car looks brilliant with the S bumper and colour coded grill.

Hi all i have just had the same nightmare trying to 05 coopers to cooper . the only way it will work is if you buy all three parts from pre facelift cooper from bmw then fit them to your 05 coopers s rear bumper i have finished mine bumpers sills gas cap now all s style and very pleased with the finished job if anyone needs the correct bmw part numbers i have them on my invoice regards Paul

i just got my US specs fenders (from cooper S) which have reflectors on them, so it wouldn't fit perfectly on my 2005 mini one? assuming if i understood correctly, the fender size between the cooper S and 2005 one is not the same?
