Hi, iv had my Forge BOV for a while now. I had it on for a few weeks and it was fine for a while. I then had my Turbo replaced under warranty as it got broken due to an engine failure but thats a different story.

When they changed the Turbo they changed the bypass valve (the part the BOV is sandwiched between), since then i get an engine warning light every now and again that causes my car to go into LIMP node and lose all its power.

Iv had replacement rubber seals sent to me & also had the first new revised version of the R56 FORGE BOV with no avail.

Has anyone else had this problem. Do you think my new Bypass valve is fauly or has an air leak/seal problem?

Thanks for any help.....Sorry for the huge post.

I know of someone who has the same problem... He has had his ECU remapped and when the BOV is fitted he occasionally gets limp mode.. when the BOV isnt fitted he has no problems!
Weird!

Any thoughts on why it is doing it?

What about the bypass valve?

The only other Mod mine has is a Pipercross panel filter but doubt that would have any affect on the air flow to make it freak out.

Like i said it was fine till the Bypass valve and turbo was changed.

Any help would be great. Forge have only been able to send me the new revised version of the BOV and a few extra seals but still got nothing. There was talk of making the holes smaller to release less air also.

Iv spoken to John thats wer'te i got the new revised version of the BOV from with the reworked seal resess's. Unfortunately it hasn't worked.

He did mention another guy that was having problems. What became of yours? Did it just go away, do you still get it or have you now removed it?

Thanks..

I've had mine for 12 months and 15,000 miles with nothing. I have the Alta CAI so increased airflow and still nothing.

i took it off and sent it back alta make one that goes on the rear boost pipe
The only problem i have with the ALTA one is that you have to drill into the inlet minifold. £20K car and a drill sounds bad news.

i had my car remapped few weeks ago, engine light came on in yellow for about 10 seconds then went, then on sunday it came on again and the car went into full on limp mode.. I had it code read and it said it was over boosting which we sorted that with the map, then it flashed at me again when driving yesterday but only for about 3 seconds then went off.. had it code read and it said my blow off valve failure or something which I do have a forge 1 from the mini specialists I baught.. had no problem with it before the map, but as soon as I took my t56 jcw up to 256bhp it seems to come on the engine warning light every so often and go into limp mode.. the car sounds and feels fine so I'm just a little confused as to what can be causing it.. any idea guys?.. thanks.
