Front passenger window alignment

Hi all,

Wondered if you could help. Iv just bought a Mini Cooper s 2006 R53. The front passenger side window has previously been smashed and replaced. The new window hasn’t been adjusted correctly so slopes down and doesn’t fit square at the top of that makes sense. Does anyone know how to adjust the glass and if so have an idiots guide to doing it? I need to get it done as soon as I can as the bad weather is coming and don’t want to cause further issues.

Thanks allot.

You need to remove the inner door trim to adjust the glass. There are then two clamp wheels (one front and one rear) which you need to loosen to get the glass to move. They have protrusions around them to allow you to hit them [carefully] with a hammer and punch as they may be difficult to turn. The glass will need to be lowered to a position which will allow you to reach them through the large hole in the inner skin.

That is superb thank you. So will the window need to be full lowered ?

Thanks again.
No, I lowered until I found it comfortable to the clamps. I think for me the ideal was about 2/3rd down.
