had the car in for left pull fix two months ago. I,ve just
opened the bonnet for the first time since, to put in screen wash. The suspension top mount have no covets and I
can see the ball race. Has the dealer for got to fit the covers?

What, you don't check the oil, coolant & brake fluid levels on a weekly basis :D

I think the answer to your query has been discussed before, sorry can't remember the answer though. I'd imagine there should be some cover over them to keep dirt out.

Wot no Covers

yup mine exposed to the weather aswell I've seen others with covers

Front end completely rebuild this week to solve left pull

New Suspension Struts (with little stickers saying “BMW COOPER S”), New Springs, New strange bars from struts to a new roll bar in lovely chrome, New Steering Rack, New Steering Pump.

Wots been going on here then no recall but they changed an awful lot of parts for a minor pull to the left.

Yes, the dealer should have fitted some black covers that will hide the ball race. The fix kit usually arrives without the covers and you end up having to ask for them.

In the link mentioned ( http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthre...&highlight=photographic evidence&pagenumber=2 ) R1s second picture shows the small black plastic covers that are recessed down the strut holes. The covers do NOT fill in the hole in the painted metalwork. The covers measure no more than 1" across.
