suggest you do a search on the two dealer names. There has been discussion on the topic over the last few months. :)

So far very positive for Global.

I phoned around about every dealer in the US a few weeks back and Global had pre-spec vehicles available for May build. As most other places had a 1-2 year wait I was a happy chap to say the least.

I chose one and made sure I got a purchase agreement and their terms sent to me. Their deposit is $1000 non-refundable - but the stipulation is that the price you pay is the price on the purchase agreemnet at the time the vehicle order is placed. No nasty surprise before deal completion.

I went over this legal 'jargon' many times with 2 different sales people and the sales manager - and I believe what I was told, and the documents I read. Also, by Global taking the $1000 from me I believe that is us making a binding contract together - am I correct ?

Global were also nice enough to call me when the sports pack was deleted by BMW, and give me the option of remaining with the vehicle or getting another - other people had also dropped out at this point and I could have chosen a different color.

A really positive thing was that unlike some dealers - (e.g. Chicago and Vegas) who add crap on the cars totalling $2500+, Global was not so bad.

Global add on an undefined 'Documentary Fee' of $297.50 (it really takes that much to file afew bits of paper ;-)).

They also add on a 'Consumer Guard' for $248.65 which is VIN etched into windows combined with a small insurance policy for $1200 should your car get stolen.

This narled me as it costs about $10 to do this elsewhere.I called the sales manager and asked him to delete it in turn for me ordering some mini accessories that I wanted - he agreed, so that made me happy.

The two sales ladies are nice people to deal with and seem 'human' compared to some of the slimey dealer I am used to.

I'll update when I collect my mini some time in June (its on the boat now).

I was wondering what car and options are you getting?
Do you think they may still have some cars available?
What MINI accessories did you refer to?

thanks for the info by the way :D

Hi,
when did you order your car? Is it a S or Cooper?
what's your last 7 digits VIN?
when are you gonna have it?
where do you live?

how does this work? is it on top of your insurance?
