Greetings from new MCS owner

Hi,

I post quite a bit on NAM but have only started to lurk around Mini2. I thought I'd show of my new '05 MCS. So far the experience has topped my expectations

Spec: 2005 MCS DS/B
-Bonnet Stripes
-LSD (I like to auto-x)
-Xenons
-Panther Black Leather
-Chromeline Interior
-Patina dash
-H/K stereo (awesome)
-MFSW
-Cold weather package

I've been told it is new for USDM '05 models. Frankly, it's piece of ****. I'm not sure how such a tacky add on made it onto a otherwise well engineered car. All the Big Gulp drinkers here in the US must have signed a petition

I noticed one while at our local dealer the other day as well so they must be a North American thing. Looks pretty tacky and removing it would be the first thing I'd do.

Nice motor - but they seemed to have got the steering wheel on the wrong side!

Yes, but at least they got the speedometer in the right spot

Beautiful car! Am I (not) seeing things... where's the foglights? Don't the Cooper S come standard with 'em in the USA - or everywhere for that matter?

No, the USDM MCS does not come with front or rear fog lamps. I'd like to retrofit the rear fog light, but I don't want to pay the dealer charge to reprogram whatever ECU controls the light.

My dealer charges 1/2 hour labor ($50) for the reprogram. Rip off!. I have the light and toggle in, but it does not light up yet. I am waiting to take it in for some other reason and see if they can do it then (while already messing with it - maybe $0 extra).
