Just got an 08 Cooper S Clubman. Very clean and tidy 80K on the clock, all the history is present, seems to have had most of the usual issues fixed - timing chain, turbo oil feed, new alternator, various seals etc.

I'm not new to Minis, in 2006 I had a 2003 Cooper S and in 2011 a 2008 Cooper D - in fact I had an account on here, but have no clue what the details are.

The car seems to drive well, so far pleased with it and the torque-steer!

Looks very clean and tidy car.

One thing though unless you can absolutely trust the seller or invoices are genuine I'd get the timing chain double checked.

I acquired a scrap car with engine blown but the car came with a dodgy looking inkjet printed invoice from the car sale it was sold saying timing chain kit was done 9 months ago. , upon inspection timing was off and clearly nothing was changed.

I'm new to minis but from what Ive learned so far you got to pay lot more attention to these cars and keep an eye on things, my daily runner is a Diesel Mondeo which only needs an yearly service before it's MOT for the past 5 years.

Thanks, good advice, the car was fairly local and I know the garages the PO used, I've used them myself in the past, so should be good. I may get the car checked out anyway with a trusted mechanic I've used for BMW/Mini in the past.
